Choosing which Jedi

posted this , edited by Inazhria Dec 9 2011 5:16 PM

So I am torn between the Knight and Consular. I want to be a skilled blade master (Knight) but I also want to be proficent at force using (Consular). Which would be best for me?

You could go with consular and choose Shadow as your advanced class. That's sort of a balance between melee and force. Most of your force abilities with the Shadow are used to augment your lightsaber skills.

If you go with a Consular Shadow, you'll be a double-bladed lightsaber DPS class that augments its melee capabilities with offensive telekinetic Force powers, so I think this is the ideal class and Advanced Class for you. :D

Jedi Consular with the Shadow advanced class. I think that's your best bet if you want the best of both worlds! You get a double bladed lightsaber along with a bunch of cool force abilities!

Advanced classes (ACs) are more important to your actual gameplay than your general class. You choose your AC at level 10, and your gameplay might change significantly based on that choice.

The ACs for Knight are Guardian (single saber, ability to spec to tank) and Sentinel (two sabers, only DPS). The Consular ACs are Sage (wields single saber but hardly uses it, ability to spec to heal) and Shadow (double-bladed saber, ability to spec to tank).

The Sage is definitely not a blademaster, but all three of the other ACs are both blademasters and masters of the force. The Shadow leans a bit more heavily on telekinetic force attacks than the Guardian or Sentinel.

Both classes do a both, although there are differences in focus. The Jedi Sentinal can dual wield light sabers, for example.

I'd say perhaps the best way to decide would be more of a role play decision. Do you want to be more of a soldier, or more of a scholar. From what you describe from what you want, either choice you make will give you force powers and light sabers.

Your bigger concern should be which class's story you're interested in more. Both classes have specs which focus on either force damage or saber damage.

I would say most likely Jedi Consular Shadow for you.

However you could be one of the rebels that tries out the third shared tree in the Jedi knight AC's (from what i could tell it focuses on force abilities from a melee standpoint, but most people avoid it)
