Mods and reverse engineering

Do mods need to be removed from an item before you try to reverse engineer the item? Can you reverse engineer an item (let's say, a blaster) even if you don't have the skill to make it (in this case Armstech)?

To answer the first question: No mod's do not need to be removed before u reverse engeneer and item. As to ifu can reverse engeneer an item even tho u cant create it id say: no :P its like disenchanting in wow :S u need a certain skill to r......

You do not need to remove the mods in order to reverse engineer an item, although certainly could if you wanted to. You can only reverse engineer items you have the skill to craft, so even if you have Armstech, if the blaster is way high level you won't be able to reverse engineer it.

Yes, and no.

But crew skills shouldn't be exactly too difficult to work up. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
