Just kind of curious what everyone else is doing. It makes more sense to level multiple characters at once to get rested XP and multiple options for skills, but don't want to get behind either...

I plan to make all eight classes from the get go and level each one at a nice and easy pace where I will continually switch between all of them. I don't care much for rushing through the best content of the game to get to the (usually) boring endgame raiding. Rather, I prefer to enjoy the journey and the story-line.

You are correct that it is technically more efficient to level multiple characters at once, but I find it difficult to switch characters like that. I will be playing a few characters somewhat simultaneously, but I will have a main character that I play most of the time, at least until it reaches some stumbling block.

I especially plan to get that main characters at least to unlock the Legacy system. I want to have as much of my alts xp going to the Legacy pool as possible, just out of principle.

I personally will be playing 2-3 characters when I first get access. I have 3 different groups of people who are all playing in different factions/different guilds so I have to move around a lot to keep everyone happy :P Plus it gives you more variety and prevents the grind from getting too monotonous. Smuggler, Consular, Warrior to start :)

I'm facing the same issue (different friends on different servers/guilds and factions. I'm not sure how I am going to juggle that at the moment. The game play can be done solo for the most part. I think the bonds between players are stronge......

Maybe you'll get lucky and all your friends will end up on the same server :)

At the moment my plan is to max level one character to the unlocking of the legacy system, then start playing my main character (supporting my main with credits and crafting from the first toon) After getting my first character to the early 30s (for legacy) and my main character to level 15 or so to get his space ship and crafting, etc. I will probably consider making a third character and possibly some characters in the other faction. But I will most likely play the first character and my main to level 50 before I truly invest any significant time into the story arcs of the other alts. [I think because the stories are so amazing for each class, that I will want to focus on them one at a time and enjoy them since I will probably play this game for years]. :-)

I'm like Mr. Sith only worse. :) I plan to make 16 characters right off the bat, 8 republic on one server, 8 empire on another. Each AC on each faction, and I've already divided them up so I don't play the same spec on mirror'ed classes.

I won't play ALL of them at the same time. In fact, I refuse to have a "policy" on that. I play what I feel like playing at any time, it helps keep it all fresh and interesting. Sometimes I focus on a character for a few weeks, sometimes a few days. Some of them get ignored for a long time, and then I get excited about them and play them for a while.

I'll probably try to get many of them up to 10 to get their AC and crew skills. Beyond that, well, I find the stories pretty captivating, so I may focus on a single character for longer periods than I have in other games, because I don't want to put away the story line. That remains to be seen.

It is tempting to push a particular character to the end of chapter 1 to get the legacy system rolling, but I generally have trouble playing one character that long. And I do like always playing rested, it helps compensate for my alt addiction if I'm always getting bonus XP.

I am going to create all 8 the 1st day but will only level up 2 or 3 at once!
