Advantages of controling ILUM??

posted this , edited by Mike Norton (manorton) Dec 5 2011 11:42 AM

Once a faction controls Ilum are there any advantages or bonuses for that faction? If so what kind and where do they or not apply?

For example I understand there's a flashpoint on Ilum: The battle of Ilum, is this flashpoint accessible by all or does the faction need to control Ilum to get to it.

Can you please list all the advantages here?

May the force be with you!

Ilum isn't exactly like the classic RvR where you can "control" the entire planet, but there are certain areas on Ilum that has resource nodes for 400-level crafting. You can also get Mercenary Commendations for completing objectives and getting kills on Ilum.

There's no direct advantage to controlling Illum. You'll get buffed for participating in the action, but as of right now controlling it provides no benefit.

Aside from bragging rights, of course.

Already been said before me, but I guess it's simple bragging rights.

From Ask A Jedi article about Ilum:

Victory conditions award a buff that can stack, which awards extra Valor points (earned during other forms of PvP such as Warzones) This buff is faction-wide
